General

Command Description
help Shows various help options in the game
/look (/l) [player/monster] Looks at the [player/monster]
/bug [description] If you find a bug in the game then you can tell the staff with this command
/who Shows all online players
/who [player] Shows [player]'s profile
/hide [ability/spellname] Hides the ability/spell from your list
/show [ability/spellname] Shows the ability/spell on your list
/get ([amount]) [item] Picks up [item] from the floor and adds it to your inventory
/drop ([amount]) [item] Drops [item] to the floor
/use [item] Uses [item], (eg, healing potion)
/time or /date Shows the server time (UK) and date
/equip [item] Put [item] on
/unequip [item] Takes [item] off and puts it in your inventory
/switch [weapon] Equips a new weapon that you have in your inventory
/deposit ([amount]) [item/gold/all] If in a bank, then deposit [gold/all] into your account, if in a clan vault, then deposit [item/all]
/withdraw ([amount]) [item/gold] If in a bank, then withdraw [gold] from your account, if in a clan vault, then withdraw [item]
/staff Shows all game staff and their game time and last logged on date
/? Shows online staff
/server Shows logon message and some server stats
/save Saves the contents of the main text window to your nightmist folder as the date-time.rtf
/forum Brings up explorer showing the forum
/cls or /clear Clears the screen, this is done automatically every 40,000 characters
/ping Get the time it takes for your pc to talk to the server and back
/library [item] Show [item]'s stats
/throw [direction/player/monster/item] [item] Throws [item] to/at the room to the [direction/player/monster/item]
/refresh Refresh all screen content, such as people in the same area, inventory, weapons, spells etc
/destroy ([quantity]) [item in inventory] Destroys an item in your inventory, or [quantity] of the same item
/system log Shows the last 50 system messages from staff
/announcement log Shows the last 50 announcements from staff
/scroll Pauses/resumes new text appearing in the window, (so you can scroll up and copy text)
/macro [number/special] [text](^[0/1]) Sets macro number f[number] or the special macro to [text], adding ^0 on the end turns autosend off, while adding ^1 on the end turns autosend on
/s [player] Does the special macro on [player]
/toggle announce Turns on/off announcements from staff. Note, this does not stop system messages
/calc (sum) Basic calculator, does maths in order left to right, can use +-/* and accepts pi
/manager Starts up another copy of the nightmist and autologs you on into the account manager
/timer Shows the timer status
/timer [h]h[m]m[s]s [message] Sets the timer with a given message
/timer start Sets the timer to start counting up from 0
/characters Shows a list of characters in your account
/load [character] [character] [character]... Loads extra characters up
/version Displays your game version
/flip coin Flips a coin in the air and tells you whether it lands on heads or tails
/flip coin show Flips a coin in the air and tells everyone around you whether it lands on heads or tails
/google [search] Google for something
/dictionary [search] Check the dictionary for something
/search [item] Searches all characters in your account for something
/textbuffersize Shows you the current text buffer size (how many characters are shown in the main text window)
/textbuffersize [number] Sets the current text buffer size instead of doing it on the menu (the default is 40000)
/textsize Shows you the current text size in the main text window
/textsize [number] Sets the current text size instead of doing it on the menu (the default is 8)


Movement

Command Description
(n)orth, (e)ast, (s)outh, (w)est, (u)p, (d)own Movement
/mumble [password] Lets you into the passworded area
/invite [player/all/clan] Invites [player], [all:everyone in the room] or [clan:everyone in the room in your clan] into your party
/join [player] Joins a [player]'s party
/disband Leave the party
/party Show members of the party and their hp
/party appoint [player] Makes [player] the leader of the party (leader only)
/party remove [player] Remove [player] from the party (leader only)
/party claim Take control of the party (if the leader leaves/dies)
'[msg] Send [msg] to other members of the party
/read Displays any read info for the area
/web Displays any web info for the area, or clan house site, or the nightmist homepage
/examine If a room has something you can examine further, this command can be used
/local Shows your current local tavern
/toggle loc Toggles showing people who you page your location
/toggle Shows all your /toggle settings


Communication

Command Description
/page (/p) [player] [message] Page an online [player] with [message]
/f [player] Forward your last page to [player]
/r [message] Page the last person to page you with [message]
/afk [message] Sets you into AFK (away from keyboard) mode, anyone who looks at you, or pages you will get this message
/afk Disables AFK mode
/dnd [message] Sets you into DND (do not disturb) mode, like afk, but people can't page you
/dnd Disables DND mode
/me [action] Says [character name] [action], (eg, '/me grins')
/yell [message] Says [message] in all the areas around you, and to staff
/memo [player/staff/leaders/founders] [message] Sends a [message] to a player, all staff (staff only), they'll be able to read it when they next come on, or do /memo check
/memo check Check for any memos sent to you while you were logged on
/memo history Shows the last 20 memos sent to you
/memo sent Shows the last 20 memos you have sent
/memo clear Erases your memo history
/memo forward Shows you the character you are forwarding memos to and any characters that are forwarding to you
/memo forward [player] Will forward all memos sent to you to [player] (character has to be in your account). If [player] changes account, it will no longer forward memos to others, and any other characters set to forward to it will be cancelled (this also applies if the character is deleted). If characters are already forwarding to you, then they are changed to forward to [player] instead. Character renames and name swaps don't affect the system.
/memo forward off Will stop you forwarding memos to another player
/ignore Shows everyone on your ignore list
/ignore clear Removes everyone from your ignore list
/ignore [player] Stops [player] from paging you
/redirect [player] Redirects all incoming pages to [player] (has to be your's)
/enemy Show the players on your enemy list
/enemy clear Removes everyone from your enemy list
/enemy [player] Adds/removes [player] to/from your enemy list
/enemy copy [alt] Copies all enemies on your alt's enemy list to yours
[[message] Sends [message] to everyone online on your enemy list
[history Shows the last 15 things said in enemy chat
/friend Show the players on your friend list
/friend clear Removes everyone from your friend list
/friend [player] Adds/removes [player] to/from your friend list
/friend copy [alt] Copies all friends on your alt's friend list to yours
][message] Sends [message] to everyone online on your friend list
]history Shows the last 15 things said in friend chat
/voicechat off Turns voicechat off
/voicechat [user] Request a voicechat with [user], they will only be told if they have enabled voicechat in the sounds/music menu
/toggle npc Turns NPC talking off
/ignorepc Shows you all the PCs you have ignored
/ignorepc [player] Adds/Removes [player] to/from your ignorepc list
/ignorepc clear Clears your ignorepc list


Fighting

Command Description
/a [enemy] Attack a monster or player
/summon Creates another creature in the arena
/nopk Shows everyone on your nopk list
/nopk clear Removes everyone from your nopk list
/nopk [player] Stops you accidently attacking [player]
/nokill Stops you accidently attacking players, this is turned off if a player attacks you
/toggle xp Stops the 'XP ready to level up' messages


Trading

Command Description
/buy Buy is an alternate way to bring up a list of things for sale in a shop
/buy ([amount]) [item] Buys [item] from the shop.
/sell Sell is an alternate way to bring up a list of things you can sell in a shop
/sell ([amount]) [item] Sell [item] to the shop.
/trade Brings up the trading system for safe trading with another player
/showstats [player] Shows [player] your character's stats
/give [player/alts/party] (quantity) [item/gold] Gives [player/alts/party] an item or gold
/websell [item]/[price] Puts [item] on the selling page on the website for [price] gold
/auction [item]/[base price] Puts [item] up for auction on the website with the starting bid at [base price]
/auction check [item] Will tell you who has bidded that can actually afford [item] and has inventory space for it, do this before '/auction end [item]'
/auction end [item] The last person on the list will get your [item], unless they don't have the required gold, in which case, the item will go to the next person and so on
/auction cancel [item] Stops your auctioning of [item] on the website, you get the item back
/showsite Shows you what items you have on the website's selling/auction system
/bounty [player] [gold] Add [player] to the bounty list for [gold]
/bounty remove [player] Remove [player] from the bounty list


Events

Command Description
/mosh start ([low level] [high level] (+3d) (+noteaming) (+alts$[x]) (+pot$[amount]) (+clan$[clan_name])x4 (+class$[0000000]) (+drunk) (+damage$[multiplier]) (+drain$[damage]) Start a mosh, [amount] is the entrance fee, winner gets the total, clan should use a _ instead of space in the name
/mosh Get the status of the mosh
/mosh enter Enter the mosh
/mosh exit Quit the mosh
/mosh log Show the log of the last mosh
/mosh yell [message] Says [message] to everyone in the mosh arena, and to staff
/toggle mosh Toggles mosh messages on or off
/mosh collect Collect your mosh prize (if used)
/hideandseek Show the players participating in the hide and seek game
/hideandseek enter Join the game of hide and seek
/hideandseek exit Leave the game of hide and seek
/toggle has Toggles hide and seek game messages on or off
/pickplayers [amount] Picks [amount] players randomly from the players on the square
/arenas Shows who is in each arena (ideal for events)



Clan Commands

Command Description
/clan chat (#) [message] Sends a [message] to everyone in your clan
/clan chat F (F) [message] Sends a [message] to all founders in your clan (founder)
/clan chat off Turns all clan messages off (logons/offs, chat, members killed)
/clan chat on Turns clan messages back on
/clan create [clan name] Makes a new clan called [clan name]
/clan loc Shows all online clan members, their hp and where they are on the map
/clan members Shows all clan members
/clan invite [player/alts] Invite [player] into your clan (founder/leader)
/clan join [player] Join's [player]'s clan if they have invited you
/clan list Shows all clans in the web window
/clan remove [player] Remove [player] from the clan (founder/leader)
/clan remove position [position] Removes all players from the clan that have [position] as their clan position. Note, a leader can't remove founders doing this, and the chairman can't be removed by anyone
/clan [appoint/promote] [player] Promote [player] from member to leader, or leader to founder
/clan demote [player] Demote [player] from founder to leader, or leader to member
/clan disband Leave the clan
/clan message Shows the current clan message
/clan message [message] When clan members log on they will see the [message] (founder). [message] can use the following real time variables: %t - time, %d - date, %n - number of clannies online, %g - amount of gold in clan bank(s), %r - number of rooms in clan house, %ce - clan enemies, %ca - clan allies
/clan position [player] ([player2] [player3] [player4]... tag) [message] Set [player]'s position on their profile as [message]
/clan position list [position] Lists all clan members with [position] as their clan position
/clan position list blank Lists all clan members with nothing in their clan position
/memo clan [message] Memos everyone in the clan with [message]
/clan claim If a clan has no chairman, a founder can do this to get chairman status
/clan transfer [username] Makes [username] the chairman of the clan, and sets the current chairman to founder
/clan description [text] Sets the description for your clan, this is seen on the website
/clan ally Shows who you have on your clan ally list and who has you on their clan ally list
/clan ally [clan] Adds/removes [clan] from your ally list, can't be attacked and shown green on display
/clan ally clear Clears your clan ally list
/clan enemy Shows who you have on your clan enemy list and who has you on their clan enemy list
/clan enemy [clan] Adds/removes [clan] from your enemy list, shown red on display
/clan enemy clear Clears your clan enemy list
/clan chat (F)history Shows the last 20 things said in (founders) clan chat
/toggle memodonations Stops memos coming to you when someone donates to the clan (founder)
/toggle memoleaving Stops memos coming to you when someone leaves the clan (founder)
/clan picture [filename on mugshots\clans] Email a logo/clan picture to JLH for placing on the server, then you can link to it to have your pic displayed on the website when people look at your clan profile
/memo [clan/members/leaders/founders] [message] Sends a [message] to the whole [clan], or just the [members], [leaders] or [founders], they'll be able to read it when they next come on, or do /memo check


Clan House Commands

Command Description
/clan room [(n)orth / (e)ast / (s)outh / (w)est / (u)p / (d)own] Creates a new clan house space [direction], (see estate agent for info)
/clan room [number] Sets a space to a room (see estate agent for info)
/clan mumble [(n)orth / (e)ast / (s)outh / (w)est / (u)p / (d)own] [password](:[message]) Sets a password to go [direction] to [password] with a custom [message] if wanted
/clan read [msg] Sets the space's /read to [msg]
/clan web [URL] Sets the space's /web to [URL]
/donate [amount/all] Donates [amount] of gold to the clan's bank
/clan kitchen addfood [food item] Adds the food [food item] to the clan's kitchen
/clan kitchen adddrink [drink item] Adds the drink [drink item] to the clan's kitchen
/clan kitchen remove [item] Removes [item] from the clan's kitchen
/clan sauna [message on button]/[message to self]/[message to square] Set a custom sauna button message with messages to yourself and the square when clicked (message to square can use %user for seeing who did it)
/clan briefing [message on button]/[message to self]/[message to clan] Set a custom briefing room button message with messages to yourself and the clan when clicked (message to clan can use %user for seeing who did it)
/clan basic ([description]) Sets the 'walk-in' description to [description]
/clan detail ([description]) Sets the 'look-around' description to [description]
/clan direction ([description]) Sets the 'direction' description to [description]
Setting colors for descriptions You can use &ltblue&gt, &ltgreen&gt, &ltred&gt, &ltpurple&gt, &ltyellow&gt, &ltcyan&gt or &ltBBGGRR&gt where BB/GG/RR go from 00 to FF in standard hex notation for the 3 primary colors blue, green and red. Hex numbers are 0123456789ABCDEF.
/clan wall [direction] Displays the current wall message with color codes
/clan wall [direction] clear Clears the direction message
/clan wall [direction] [text] Sets a message for when you walk into a wall in a particular direction
/clan monster list Shows a list of clan NPCs you can add to your clan house
/clan monster [monstername] Adds [monstername] to the current square you are on, costs 50k
/clan donations Shows the last 50 donations to your clan
/toggle arena Stops death messages from sparring arenas
/clan title ([description]) Sets the 'title' description to [description], used in paging, max of 50 characters
/clan title clear Clears the title of a room back to the default
/clan lock [character] Adds/Removes this character's ability to go on this square and no-one else unless they have been added or are the chairman of the clan.
/clan lock leaders Adds/Removes leaders' ability to go on this square
/clan lock founders Adds/Removes founders' ability to go on this square


Ability/Spell Commands

Command Description
/spells Shows a list of all spells (including hidden ones) that you have
/cast spellname/player Casts a [spellname] on [player/monster] (all classes)
/vision Shows invisible people (cleric)
/forage Searches for food in the local area (druids and rangers)
/morph Transform into a creature for a short while (druids)
/hypnotise [monster] Attempts to stop the monster attacking you (rangers)
/track [enemy] Follows the enemy (rangers)
/assassinate [enemy] Attempts to assassinate [enemy] (thieves)
/covert Hide (thieves)
/steal [enemy] Attempts to steal gold from [enemy] (thieves)
/spy ([direction]) With the spyglass equiped, this will show you what lies in a particular direction (all classes)
/create food Creates a random item of food into inventory (pacifists)
/create water Creates a water item into inventory (pacifists)
/recall Teleport to local (pacifists)
/tribute [gold/item] For every 5 gold you tribute to your deity, you get 1 mp restored. For any item you tribute, you get 6 mp (pacifists)
/reset Reset your character but keep xp (this can only be done to characters created before february 2004 and can only be done once)
/levels Shows how much hp/mp you have gained at each level up
