The following items absorb some damage from enemy player spells, and combine via the following formula:
(a1 + a2 + ... + an) - (a1 * a2 * ... * an), where ax is each individual piece of equipment's spell absorb factor (factors of zero aren't included in the equation).
This capability only exists on the 1-alt server.
