Herald of the Damned

Profile

Legends say that the Herald of the Damned has but one purpose, to sound its horn and summon the legions of the damned to signal the end of the world. Whether or not the legends are true, the figure standing before you presents a more immediate problem. Taller than two men, the demon towers over you with its massive barbed pitchfork as it begins its assault.

Attacks and abilities

The Herald of the Damned attacks you directly with a Barbed Pitchfork, although it can be dodged or blocked, but his greatest threat comes from his horn, which overwhelms a target character with evil on the sound of its note; the resultant damage requires at least two doses of Paladin Aid, which is where the main challenge arises. To successfully take on Herald of the Damned requires Paladins to take a role normally reserved for Clerics, while Berserkers deal most of the damage - not having enough Paladins results in not being able to out-heal the Herald's damage, while having too few Berserkers makes for a very long fight.
