Gristle
The Gristle is a giant troll that resides in one of the arena's within Mandrake's Coliseum. His unique difficulty comes from the fact that only Rangers and Thieves may take him on. The Gristle costs 25,000 gold to fight on the multi-alt server, and 100,000 gold on the 1-alt server.
Profile
Exceptionally large even for a troll, Gristle seems to have come prepared for a meal, brandishing an oversized dinner fork as a surprisingly effective weapon. The tiny black pits that are his eyes glaze over and his enormous jaw sags open as he watches you approach.
Attacks and abilities
The Herald of the Damned attacks you directly with a Barbed Pitchfork, although it can be dodged or blocked, but his greatest threat comes from his horn, which overwhelms a target character with evil on the sound of its note; the resultant damage requires at least two doses of Paladin Aid, which is where the main challenge arises. To successfully take on Herald of the Damned requires Paladins to take a role normally reserved for Clerics, while Berserkers deal most of the damage - not having enough Paladins results in not being able to out-heal the Herald's damage, while having too few Berserkers makes for a very long fight.
