Demilich

The Demilich is a powerful undead necromancer that uses spells to drain the life of foes. It consists of nothing more than a skull and a large cloak and can move around its arena at unbelievable speeds. Because of this, it is impossible to strike it conventionally, no matter how many Dexterity modifiers are used, hence its motto in the Coliseum: "Think you are quick enough to hit it?" (Trust me, you aren't!) Only spells and healing can harm him.

Profile

Even before you can see it, you can feel the evil presence of the Demilich like a lump in the back of your throat. Hovering at the height it might once have stood when it had a body, the skull is devoid of flesh but the eye sockets pulsate with an infernal red glow that seems to draw you toward it unwillingly. With a voice that reminds you of fingernails being scraped against slate, the apparition taunts you as it attacks.

Attacks and abilities

The Demilich bolsters its essence with an evil aura to drain the life from its prey, along with exhaling rancid gases and rending souls. Other times it is more content to get up close and take a bite out of you.

Druids and Mages are by far the best classes to use against the Demilich with their offensive spells. Clerics are required for healing, and are about half as effective offensively compared to Druids and Mages (although they do better with Jolt if they have the spell), while Paladins are even less effective, but can nonetheless still damage the thing. Fighters, Rangers, Thieves and Berserkers can almost never lay a finger on the Demilich due to its insanely high dodge rate, so these classes are only useful for holding inventory items and spreading out damage.

Consecrated Embrace is a very useful support spell as it increases the party's spell damage by 10% - a very nice buff, especially given that the Demilich self-heals.
