Advantages
- Gnomes have a -5% fizzle rate when using spells.
- Gnomes have a +5% magic resistance.
Most Suitable Roles
Gnomes do not have a wide range of classes available to them, but are reliable magic users thanks to their reduced fizzle rate and increased resistance to enemy magic attacks; coupled with their above-average Dexterity, they can prove to be quite resilient. Gnome Mages are formidable with their high Intelligence, rivalling even their Elven cousins, whilst trading some of their maximum MP for increased Dexterity in comparison. Gnome Clerics have a good balance of Dexterity and Wisdom, and are slightly more reliable than other races in this role.
Gnomes have the lowest Strength of all races, hence Gnome Thieves are not very popular, although their good Dexterity and increased magic resistance allow them to hold their own fairly well.
Gnome Pacifists do not tend to be very common either due to the maximum Charisma being below average.
